Madras University Distance Education Admission 2025: The Institute of Distance Education was established in 1981. Madras University IDE currently offers sixteen UG, twenty-two PG, nineteen diploma, and sixteen certificate programs. Admission is open throughout the year for all 73 programs in the calendar and academic year cycle.

Madras University IDE includes BA, BBA, BFA, MBA, MCA, CCAA, CCT, etc. A complete list of Madras distance courses can further be seen in the article. Admission to MBA and MCA will be given to candidates who have managed to pass university/national level entrance exams. Madras University IDE Admission Process

Madras University IDE application form is available online/offline. An offline application form can be collected in person from the admission campus of the Madras IDE. The online application form is arranged on the official IDE portal. The Fee for the offline and online application form is INR 224 and INR 236, including GST. Candidates who wish to use the online mode of registration can follow the instructions below.

• Visit Online IDE Portal
• Press the register button, and enter your email id, mobile number, and other details
• Create an account by making an OTP verification
• A unique account will be created
• Re-Log In account, and complete the Madras IDE application form
• Fill up the mandatory field, and upload documents
• Students’ photos and signatures must not exceed 50, and 30 kb
• Copies of relevant academic documents must hold a maximum size of 100 kb
• Deposit registration fee, and submit an application form

University of Madras IDE Eligibility 

Madras IDE eligibility for UG and PG programs admission has been detailed below.

BA/BCOM/BBA/BSC/BCA/BFA Music

Candidates who wish to take admission to the above-mentioned programs must pass any of the following exams.

• Passed in +2 exam in the academic or vocational stream by following 10+2/11+1/11+2 pattern from state or any other board of India.
• 12th from National Open School, New Delhi.
• Three-year diploma from SBTEE after passing 10th.
• Passed the pre-technical exam conducted by the SBTET, Chennai.
• Foundation course of two years from Annamalai or Madurai Kamaraj Universities.
• Passed in the GCE (Principal or Advanced level) with English in the O Level.

MSC Geography

• Bachelor’s degree with statistics/math/business math/business statistics as main or allied subjects.

MCA

• Completed degree in BSC in Computer Science/BCA,
• Passed BSC/B.COM/BA with Math at 12th.
• The IDE, Madras University, will conduct the entrance test.

Madras University Distance Education Fees details

Madras IDE fees for each offered program are given below.

BA Tamil/Literature in Tamil/English/Economics/Historical Studies

• Madras university students can deposit a first-year fee of INR 6,070 for BA-oriented programs.
• TN GOVT +2 Passed aspirants will need to deposit INR 6,370 for the first year.
• In other states, individuals shall be required to deposit INR 6,470.
• The second and third-year fees of the above-mentioned BA programs for all state candidates will be followed successively for two years. The amount will remain as INR 5,120.

M.Com

• Madras university pass-outs shall deposit INR 7,000 for the first year.
• Other universities passed candidates can deposit a fee of INR 7,400.
• Last year’s Fee for all state individuals is INR 5,950.

MSc Information Technology

• The first-year Fee of Madras and other states passed aspirants is INR 15,750 and 16,150, respectively.
• Last year fee for the MSC Information Technology program is INR 14,700.
